There was a recent article published in the WSJ that has officially pushed me over the edge and has now set my fire ablaze. They have said that they have ‘Identified’ thousands of illegally scanlated material and plan to move as a whole in the industry in order to get the FBI to stop it. For one, I doubt the FBI actually gives a damn since its not something that gets money in the US. Second, the FBI has no jurisdiction over other countries. They will end up pushing the sites into China, India, and other countries that cannot be touched. The rant begins after you click continue reading. This post is fairly lengthy and I will try to have attacked this issue from all points and give any reason I can think of as to why this coalition needs to change it’s goals if it wants to succeed. I recently went onto Google to find a place that might be able to give me more accurate ad revenue estimates. What I found was higher than I anticipated, by a large number.I came across a site called Cubestat.com. They use some fairly good math and useage of statistics to auto-generate a website’s worth and ad income. The number is very insane for just one website.
